This is a digital Escape Game which can be played online (in which case an Internet connection is required) or offline via an HTML file. This material includes: Instructions: including Link + QR-Code to access the game (the game was created on the website genially.com) & instructions on how to access the offline version HTML file which allows offline access to the game Solutions: This handout contains all the passwords that the students have to enter in the game with their explanation Vocabulary List for ESL/EFL classes Duration: It takes about 30-40 minutes to get to the end of the game. This escape game is designed to help pupils learn literature in a fun and engaging way. The pupils put themselves in the role of Sherlock Holmes and can work their way through the story using deductive skills. The escape game is solved by students solving several puzzles and looking out for hidden clues. Ideally, students play this game in pairs or small groups so that they can support each other. The purpose of this escape game is to convey the story ‘The Speckled Band’ most excitingly and visually possible so that it can be easily understood. Let the adventure begin!
